As a Production Technician at MilDef Ltd, you will be part of our production team and mainly work with the assembly of our products. This involves mounting both mechanical and electronics parts, and will include the soldering of electronic components from time to time.
The role involves varied assembly work where quality is highly valued; you are given the opportunity to develop your skills working with our exciting and technologically advanced rugged IT products, for use in demanding environments.
As a Production Technician, you will report to the Production Manager at MilDef Ltd (UK). Key responsibilities/your duties will include;
Assembly of MilDef’s products.
Contribute to improvements in our production environment, to work as efficiently and effectively as possible.
Perform other job-related duties and responsibilities that may be assigned from time to time.
Who you are today;
To thrive in the role, you must be a hands-on person with a keen technical interest. The work requires good practical and assembly techniques, ability to follow MilDef routines (such as IPC standards for electronic assemblies) and understanding of the importance of delivering quality in every task.
As a person you must be organised, structured, and meticulous. You must also be able to work just as well as independently, as with your colleagues. Since the role can be high tempo from time to time, it is important that you are resilient, flexible, driven and are able to prioritize. You should be social, committed, with a great sense of responsibility and have an easy time adapting to new tasks and technology.
The following list describes key competence and experience that is relevant and necessary to succeed in the role;
Technical education and work experience from assembly or similar technology / electronics
Mechanical and technical skills, with good hands-on ability.
Good soldering technique.
Problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
Team-player and social skills; comfortable working in a team or independently.
A positive mindset.
Fluency in English, both spoken and written.
Ability to read technical work instructions, manuals and technical drawings.
Prepared to if necessary, visit and attend training at MilDef Products in Sweden.
Willing to undergo and pass UK security vetting.
The following list describes optional criteria which will help supplement the role;
Knowledge of various computer Operating Systems.
Previous experience of using test software / programming tools.
