We believe that you have previous experience as a corporate lawyer and working in legal operations and like to build strong professional relationships to enable the best result. You feel comfortable working both independently and as part of a team.

As our Legal Counsel, your expertise will be crucial across various domains. Your responsibilities will span from contract negotiation to ensuring global legal compliance, all while working closely with various departments and the rest of our team. You will also play a key role in acquisitions and other external and internal projects. In short, you will contribute to the legal operations agenda both in the operational work and on a more strategic level.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, review, and negotiate a wide array of commercial agreements with a  consistent high professional level across multiple jurisdictions.
• Identify risks and provide specialist legal support in a wide range of core business matters such as M&A, investments, intellectual property, commercial contracts, disputes, anti-trust, general corporate, data privacy and regulatory compliance.
• Monitor evolving legislation and industry standards to shape internal policies, legal templates, best practice and training material and promote a culture of integrity, transparency and accountability.
• Advice on legal matters related to MilDef’s status as a listed company.
• Advice on ethical, sustainability and regulatory matters related to being in the defense sector such as export control and sanctions.
• Act as a strategic sparring partner to senior management and business departments especially during M&A processes and high stakes commercial agreements
• Have strong relationships with various functions, including operations, sales, procurement, HR, etc. to provide legal advice ensuring that business objectives are obtained within legal boundaries.

What you bring

• Swedish university degree in law.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience as corporate legal counsel or in a business law firm, including being the first point of contact with external stakeholders.
• Experience working in international environments.
• Strong skills in legal analysis, risk management and negotiation.
• Business-oriented mindset with the ability to combine pragmatism with legal accuracy.
• Fluency in English, with excellent communication skills.
• A structured, proactive and independent approach to work.
• Experience in the defense sector and in highly regulated business sectors is an advantage.
