Step into the role

As a Tactical Purchaser at MilDef, you will contribute to securing competitive sourcing solutions, strong supplier partnerships, and long-term supply continuity. In a rapidly growing defence industry shaped by increased rearmament and operational demands, you will play a key role in driving sourcing activities, negotiations, and supplier performance that support both business growth and operational resilience.

Key responsibilities

• Execute sourcing projects within assigned categories in line with category strategies.

• Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers based on cost, quality, and reliability.

• Negotiate price agreements and optimize total cost of ownership.

• Conduct supplier performance reviews and provide data-driven insights.

• Analyze market trends, benchmarking data, and purchasing KPIs.

• Support product development and production projects with sourcing expertise and risk mitigation.

• Drive continuous improvements in purchasing practices, digital tools, compliance, and sustainability initiatives.

What you bring

• 3-5 years of experience in purchasing or sourcing, including supplier negotiations, risk analysis, and strong business mindset

• Experience performing supplier evaluations, benchmarking, and data analysis in a manufacturing environment

• Strong skills in cost analysis, total cost of ownership (TCO), and spend analysis

• Technical understanding and Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, or Engineering or equivalent professional experience

• Strong proficiency in Swedish and English, both spoken and written.

• Preferably experience with procurement digitalization, cost modeling, Lean Six Sigma, or category management principles.
